I just wanted you all to know that I did not fall in a hole somewhere for the last two weeks.
I've been on a much needed holiday back home to the United States. The picture above accurately depicts what our Christmas, New Year's and every other day that we were home looked like. We were so busy running from house to house, store to store and restaurant to restaurant that I barely touched a computer. My iPhone was the only thing that kept me linked to the rest of the world.
So it's only my second day back in Singapore and I've been welcomed back with one of the signature headaches that I seem to so often get here.
So as soon as that's gone, and as soon as I sort through all of the 500 pictures that we took while we're home, I will be a much more productive blogger.
Hope your holidays were as wonderful as ours were.

Yay! Glad your back safe and sound and had a great trip home! I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye!
Hope you have a great weekend!
I envy you. The fireworks here were fun, but I'd much rather have spent that evening in NYC than Singapore.
One question... Who did you get service with for your iPhone while you were in the US?
Hey Brad,
AT&T is still the only carrier that has the iPhone available (at least in our area and to my knowledge). However, that's who we were going to go with regardless of iPhone or no iPhone.
They took really good care of me when I moved to Singapore with my husband and allowed me to get out of my contract back then, no questions asked. I just said he was military, gave them a copy of his orders and that was it. No crazy fees and no headaches. Every time we talk to them now regarding our new phone service, they fall all over themselves thanking us for our service and for all that we do for our country. They allowed us to sign up for a new plan, get new phones, use them for the duration of our time at home, and then suspend the account while we finish out our time here in Singapore. We don't pay anything while we're here. (This is all because we're a military family, by the way.)
So yeah, I love them over there.
I'm glad you had a good NYE even though you weren't in the States. I've heard the fireworks here are awesome.
Ya. AT&T is still the only official carrier of the iPhone in the US but inwasnt sure if you'd brought your own iPhones from Singapore or not I've heard it's hard to get temporary service in the US for international travelers with iPhones.
I had a similar experience with Verizon when I came home on R&R leave from Kuwait. They let me renew my contract, get a new phone and then suspend the contract again. My problem with them came in when I moved to Singapore on my own. At first they said they'd cancel the contract with no problems. Then afte I was already in Singapore they changed their tune and said I would have to pay termination fees on both of my lines. I asked them how that could be possible since I'd moved outside of their service area. Their service contract says that if you move outside their service area you can terminate the contract since you no longer can recurve service from them. They gave me a bunch of run around and even after providing additional proof of residence like addressed mail they still didn't believe me. I wound up sending them a nasty letter telling them to shove their fees up their butt because even if they try to negatively affect my credit with it I'll be outside the US long enough for it to not matter when I get back. I just got tired of dealing with them. 7 years of being a loyal customer and they treated me like a criminal.
Anyhow if you want to see the fireworks and sone photos from downtown Singapore on New Year's Eve I recorded it and embedded it in a post.
